Having some common health problems during pregnancy is normal. Everybody knows that the experience of Pregnancy is different for different people. It is also true that no two pregnancies are the same! If this is not your first pregnancy, you also probably know that even each of your pregnancies is a different experience. Some you just sail through and some you rough out! However easy or hard it may be; here are some common pregnancy problems that you might face at some point or other.

Here are some common health problems during pregnancy

Backache

With your growing baby bump and the shift in the center of gravity for your body, backache is one of the most common health problems during pregnancy. Sitting and walking in the wrong posture can also put a lot of stress on your back. Here is how you can relieve it,

  • Make sure you adopt the right posture; consult your doctor.
  • Do light exercises and you can even try yoga in pregnancy from when you get pregnant. This should help avoid a backache in later stages.
  • Wear comfortable, and flat shoes; avoid high heels.
  • Tuck a pillow in between your legs, for better back support.

Heartburn

Pregnancy can increase the acid content in the stomach, causing heartburn. Eating small and frequent meals can help manage heartburn. Make sure to eat something every two hours. Stay away from fried and oily foods; eat healthy, and also avoid sleeping or lying down just after a meal. Give a minimum of half an hour before you decide to lie down. Don’t skip meals or go hungry for extended periods of time; occasionally treat yourself to that vanilla ice cream. This should also curb your heartburn.

Morning Sickness

Morning sickness affects some only in the first trimester, while it affects others throughout their pregnancy and is pregnancy problems. Contrary to what the name might suggest, morning sickness can affect you all through the day and at night too! Be prepared to ride that wave of nausea out and to visit the washroom often.

In order to keep morning sickness at bay,

  • Take your time getting out of bed: Stay in bed for a while after you have woken up. This should help ease nausea and also stem feeling faint.
  • As soon as you wake up, try eating something even if you aren’t hungry, like a slice of toast. Avoid drinking water or fluid the first thing in the morning.
  • Hydrate yourself throughout the day, and make healthy food choices!

Feeling Hot in Pregnancy

Pregnancy can make you feel hotter than usual. This is often attributed to hormonal changes and increased blood supply to the skin. You may also tend to sweat more. It may help to wear loose and light clothes, like cotton, which is more breathable than synthetic fibers. Keep your room cool (23-250C) and use a fan if you feel the need to. Wash frequently, as this can also help you feel fresh.

Peeing Frequently

Another very common woe in those pregnant starts right at the beginning of pregnancy and continues until the time of delivery. In later stages, it happens when the baby’s head pushes against your bladder. A few things you can do to minimize your trips to the washroom include consuming fewer drinks at night before going to bed. However, make sure to hydrate throughout the day with non-alcoholic and non-caffeinated drinks. Some women have also stated that rocking back and forth on the toilet seat while peeing can help empty the bladder fully. If you find that peeing hurts or if you identify some spots of blood in your urine, then make sure to consult a doctor.

Stretch Marks

Most women are conscious about stretch marks after pregnancy. Most often, stretch marks occur on the tummy, thighs, or even the breasts. While many over-the-counter creams claim to prevent them, no conclusive evidence points to it yet. However, as these creams are most often harmless, you could try them. Some home remedies for stretch marks include olive and almond oil. Even so, the best way to prevent stretch marks is to maintain a healthy pregnancy weight! But at the end of the day, you should embrace your stretch marks and never feel insecure because its natural. You are beautiful, no matter what!
