In a chat with us, Satyadeep shares his views on employee diversity, culture-centric leadership, and tech-powered employee well-being.
Embracing diversity as a natural thinking process
Satyadeep considers himself lucky to have gotten the opportunity to work with a diverse set of culture-driven organisations and inspiring leaders. He spent his formative years in a tech-oriented HR role during which he supported a couple of large organisations such as Infosys and Microsoft. Soon after, he switched gears to join companies in the finance space such as Bajaj Finance Limited where the playbook was unique and different. Eventually, he made a conscious decision to join the start-up world with a leading tele-communications enterprise.
From witnessing the first-of-its-kind product launch to building value for a brand from scratch, Satyadeep highlights this phase of his career as a major turning point in his professional HR journey. Ever since, he has been promoting inclusivity in the workplace and he strives to embrace the cultural diversity of employees as well as customers.

A respectful approach toward leadership
According to Satyadeep, the most important aspect of creating a people-centric culture is to perform leadership duties while respecting every individual in the organisation. He believes the only way HR managers and leaders can embrace inclusivity and diversity is when they treat their employees with dignity and empathy.
Even when devising HR policies, Satyadeep and his team take their employees’ unique needs and pain points into consideration before anything else. In his view, this is primarily how a people leader approaches HR responsibilities in companies, both large and small, to enhance employee engagement.
Technology fuels employee and candidate experience
When asked about how his team at CleverTap leveraged technology in HR, Satyadeep had a few interesting thoughts to share. He believes that technology is a great enabler that drives better employee and customer experience. At every touchpoint of an employee’s work cycle, Satyadeep and his team have implemented technology to simplify processes and enhance employee interaction. At the onboarding stage, his team has deployed a cutting-edge engagement tool to boost communications between candidates and the recruiters of the organisation.
Satyadep and his team have used tech-based tools to create an engaging, online communication platform that helps groups of people come together as a community to discuss their concerns and successes. Furthermore, his team assesses the forum to track areas of improvement and offers HR assistance to specific individuals or sets of individuals.
Additionally, Satyadeep and his team use an AI-powered platform to seek and receive employee feedback, real-time employee insights, and valuable talent insights to create a culture of transparency and accountability.

Technology aids holistic employee well-being
Given the current climate, Satyadeep believes that employee well-being is no longer an isolated ecosystem. When addressing employee wellness, it’s important to consider employees’ family units as well and regard them as extensions of the workforce. Considering this, Satyadeep and his team organise fun-filled, virtual talent contests for their employees’ children. They also set up virtual health-talks for employees and their ageing parents.
To encourage a collaborative and communicative environment, Satyadeep and his team host tech-talks with employees every Friday. This event is led by a tech specialist to enlighten the audience with useful insights on how technology can improve their day-to-day routine at work.
To enhance their focus on health and fitness, Satyadeep and his team are working out ways in which employees and their family members can avail virtual consultations and well-being sessions with budget-friendly specialists. Using technology, they are curating a fitness tool or app that will encourage employees to be physically active and mindful about regular exercise.
Satyadeep is one of our most impactful people leaders of 2023. He is an experienced HR professional with a strong penchant for talent scouting.
