Collaboration
Heads together on the problems that matter — building healthcare that actually works for small teams.

Great teams
Great teams build each other up — that’s not a poster on our wall, it’s how we work.

Celebrations
We mark the wins, big and small — every milestone here is a team milestone.

In the room
Where the debates happen — because it’s better to get it right for a member than to be right.
Why we built Onsurity
In 2020, the pandemic laid bare just how exposed India’s small businesses were, our founders: Yogesh Agarwal and Kulin Shah kept running into the same unfair gap. Small teams wanted to protect their people with group health cover, but they couldn’t. Insurers set minimum team sizes that shut out anyone below a certain headcount, and asked for a heavy annual premium most small businesses simply couldn’t spare. The people who needed protection the most were the ones locked out of it.
So they built the alternative. Onsurity pioneered the monthly healthcare membership: a small, predictable monthly fee per employee that made group cover possible for a team as small as three. That was our first promise: to open healthcare up, so a three-person startup could look after its people the same way a 5,000-person company does.
But real healthcare was never only about hospitalization. It’s the doctor you call at 11pm, the therapy session, the annual check-up, the everyday needs a traditional policy quietly leaves out. So we kept going. We brought group health insurance together with teleconsultations, mental health support, health check-ups, discounted medicines, personal accident cover and term life, one membership, covering the whole of a person’s health. And we partnered with some of India’s most trusted insurers and wellness providers to make sure every part of it was worth having.
The founders often say they set out to build the healthcare partner they wish they’d had from day one. That’s still what gets us up in the morning.

Our culture & ethos
What fuels us
We want to make employee healthcare the new basic at work. Living up to that takes a particular kind of team: equal parts restless and warm. We’re engineers, designers, doctors, actuaries and operators, and we’re genuinely bothered by how broken healthcare has been for small businesses and just as set on fixing it.
Be curious.
We stay curious about the people we serve and the problems we haven’t cracked yet, the best ideas here start with a question, not an answer.
Be authentic.
We say what we mean, in plain language, with each other and with our members. No jargon, no spin, no pretending to have it all figured out.
Be a critical thinker.
We question assumptions, our own included. And we follow the evidence, not the loudest voice in the room. Better to debate the details now than get it wrong for a member later.
Be care-led.
Care isn’t a department here; it’s where every decision starts. Behind each membership is a real person on a hard day, and they’re who we build for.
It’s the care and the craft together that turns a monthly membership into something people trust with their family’s health. It’s also why we work hardest at the moment that matters most: the claim.

About Onsurity — questions, answered
The things people most want to know about who we are and what we do.
Onsurity provides monthly, comprehensive employee healthcare to SMEs, MSMEs, startups and growing businesses in India. A single membership bundles group health insurance with wellness and primary-care benefits — doctor tele-consultations, health check-ups, discounted medicines and more — so smaller companies can offer the kind of healthcare that was once reserved for large corporates.
Onsurity was founded in February 2020 in Bengaluru, India, by Yogesh Agarwal and Kulin Shah. The founders set out to solve a specific problem: affordable, accessible employee healthcare for the millions of small and mid-sized businesses that traditional insurers overlooked.
Onsurity was co-founded by Yogesh Agarwal (CEO) and Kulin Shah (COO). Yogesh is a qualified actuary with deep experience in insurance and risk; Kulin brings a background in building and scaling consumer and technology businesses. Together they lead Onsurity’s mission to democratise employee healthcare for India’s SMEs.
Traditional group insurance usually demands a large annual premium upfront, a sizeable minimum team size, and paperwork that takes weeks. Onsurity charges monthly, works for small teams, activates digitally, and goes beyond hospitalisation to include everyday wellness and primary care — all managed through one app.
Onsurity is backed by leading global and Indian investors, including IFC (a member of the World Bank Group), Nexus Venture Partners, Quona Capital and Creaegis. Their support fuels Onsurity’s mission to bring quality healthcare to every Indian business.
Onsurity serves over 2 million members across more than 10,000 companies in India — from early-stage startups to established mid-market firms, spanning a wide range of industries and cities.
