About this guide
FHPL (Family Health Plan Insurance TPA Limited) is an independent, IRDAI-licensed third-party administrator. Onsurity is a group-health-insurance platform and is not affiliated with FHPL unless your policy is specifically serviced by them. This page is a free, independent guide. For official login and real-time claim status, always use FHPL’s own portal: fhpl.net.
What is FHPL?
A third-party administrator (TPA) does not sell or underwrite insurance. FHPL is the service company that sits between you, the hospital and your insurer — issuing health cards, running the helpdesk, approving cashless pre-authorisation and settling reimbursement claims. Incorporated in 1995 and licensed by IRDAI in 2002, FHPL administers group and retail health policies across a pan-India footprint.
Members interact with FHPL mainly through the fhpl.net web portal and the FHPL mobile app, where you can view your policy, find network hospitals, intimate a claim, upload documents and track claim status. If your policy names FHPL as the TPA, it is FHPL you deal with for anything claim-related, even though your insurer is a separate company.

How claims work through FHPL
A TPA sits between you, the hospital and the insurer. There are two ways a claim reaches FHPL, and the path decides how you check its status.
Cashless claim
At a network hospital, the hospital sends a pre-authorisation request to FHPL. FHPL approves an amount and settles it directly with the hospital, so you pay only deductions and non-payable items at discharge. Status moves from pre-auth requested to approved to settled.
Reimbursement claim
At a non-network hospital, you pay the bill yourself, then submit documents to FHPL. They verify the file and pay the approved amount to your bank account. Status moves from documents received to under processing to approved / paid (or query raised if papers are missing). See cashless vs reimbursement for the full comparison.
How to check your FHPL claim status
You can track a FHPL-serviced claim in a few minutes using your policy or claim reference. The exact labels vary slightly by insurer, but the flow is the same.
Keep your claim reference handy
You will need your FHPL UHID/member number and either your claim number or cashless (pre-authorisation) number, plus your date of hospitalisation. These appear on your health card and the SMS sent when the claim was registered.
Open the official FHPL claim-tracking page
Go to fhpl.net and open Claim Tracking. This is FHPL’s own channel — Onsurity cannot look up an FHPL-serviced claim for you, so always use the official portal for account-specific details.
Select your insurer and enter your reference
Choose your insurance company from the dropdown, then enter your claim number, cashless number or UHID along with the date of hospitalisation, and submit.
Read the current status and any query
The tracker shows the stage — received, under processing, approved, query raised, or settled/paid. Cashless claims show the amount approved to the hospital; reimbursement claims show the amount approved to your account.
Clear any query, or call the helpline
If the status shows a query, upload or send the requested document promptly — an unanswered query is the most common reason a claim stalls. For anything unclear, call FHPL on 1800 425 4033.
Finding a FHPL network hospital
Cashless treatment only works at a hospital tied up with your insurer and FHPL. Before a planned admission, confirm the hospital is in-network so the pre-authorisation can flow through FHPL rather than forcing you into a reimbursement claim.
FHPL lists its empanelled hospitals on fhpl.net. You can also browse Onsurity’s cashless hospital directory and read how a third-party administrator fits into the claim chain.
Common reasons a claim gets delayed
Most FHPL delays are document or eligibility issues, not rejections. Knowing the usual causes helps you fix a stuck claim faster.
Missing or unclear documents
A missing discharge summary, illegible bill or absent investigation report puts a reimbursement claim into “query” until you send exactly what is asked for.
Details that don’t match the policy
A name, date of birth or UHID that differs between the hospital paperwork and the policy record must be reconciled before FHPL can proceed.
Waiting periods and eligibility
Claims for conditions still inside a waiting period, or for a member not yet added to the policy, are held for verification with the insurer before a decision.
Non-payable and deducted items
Consumables, administrative charges and amounts above a sub-limit are deducted, so the settled figure can be lower than the hospital bill even when the claim is approved.

What is the FHPL full form?
FHPL stands for Family Health Plan. The company’s full legal name is Family Health Plan Insurance TPA Limited, an IRDAI-licensed third-party administrator that has operated since the mid-1990s.
How long does an FHPL reimbursement claim take?
Once complete documents are received and there is no pending query, reimbursement claims are typically processed within a couple of weeks, though timelines vary by insurer and claim complexity. Responding to any query quickly is the biggest factor in a fast settlement.
