Medsave claim status & login: an independent guide
Medsave is an IRDAI-licensed third-party administrator (TPA) — the company that processes cashless approvals and reimbursement claims on behalf of insurers, not an insurer itself. To check your Medsave claim status, open the claim-track page at medsave.in, choose your policy type (for example, Group) and enter your policy number or TPA ID number; you can also call the toll-free helpline on 1800 120 111 234.

About this guide
Medsave (Medsave Health Insurance TPA Limited) is an independent, IRDAI-licensed third-party administrator. Onsurity is a group-health-insurance platform and is not affiliated with Medsave unless your policy is specifically serviced by them. This page is a free, independent guide. For official login and real-time claim status, always use Medsave’s own portal: medsave.in.
What is Medsave?
A third-party administrator does not sell or underwrite insurance. Medsave Health Insurance TPA Limited is the service company that sits between you, the hospital and your insurer — issuing health cards, running the claims helpdesk, approving cashless pre-authorisation requests and processing reimbursement claims. If your policy names Medsave, it is Medsave you deal with for anything claim-related, while the insurer remains a separate company.
Delhi-headquartered and IRDAI-licensed (TPA licence No. 019), Medsave services group and retail health policies through a national network of empanelled hospitals. Members interact with it mainly through the medsave.in portal, where you can track a claim using your policy number or TPA ID number and find network hospitals.

How claims work through Medsave
A TPA sits between you, the hospital and the insurer. There are two ways a claim reaches Medsave, and the path decides how you check its status.
Cashless claim
At a network hospital, the hospital sends a pre-authorisation request to Medsave. Medsave approves an amount and settles it directly with the hospital, so you pay only deductions and non-payable items at discharge. Status moves from pre-auth requested to approved to settled.
Reimbursement claim
At a non-network hospital, you pay the bill yourself, then submit documents to Medsave. They verify the file and pay the approved amount to your bank account. Status moves from documents received to under processing to approved / paid (or query raised if papers are missing). See cashless vs reimbursement for the full comparison.
How to check your Medsave claim status
You can track a Medsave-serviced claim in a few minutes using your policy or claim reference. The exact labels vary slightly by insurer, but the flow is the same.
Keep your reference numbers handy
You will need your Medsave TPA ID number (member/UHID), plus your policy number and either your claim number or cashless (pre-authorisation) number. These appear on your health card, the SMS sent when the claim was registered, and your policy document.
Open the official Medsave claim-track page
Go to medsave.in and open the claim-track page. This is Medsave’s own channel — Onsurity cannot look up a Medsave-serviced claim for you, so always use the official portal for account-specific details.
Select your policy type and enter your details
Choose the correct policy type (for example, Group), then enter your policy number or TPA ID number as prompted and submit.
Read the current stage
The portal shows the claim’s stage — intimated, under processing, approved, settled or query raised. Cashless claims show the amount approved to the hospital; reimbursement claims show the amount approved to your bank account.
Clear any query, or call the helpline
If the status shows a query, submit the requested document promptly — an unanswered query is the most common reason a claim stalls. If anything is unclear, call Medsave on 1800 120 111 234 rather than waiting.
Finding a Medsave network hospital
Cashless treatment only works at a hospital tied up with your insurer and Medsave. Before a planned admission, confirm the hospital is in-network so the pre-authorisation can flow through Medsave rather than forcing you into a reimbursement claim.
Medsave lists its empanelled hospitals on medsave.in. You can also browse Onsurity’s cashless hospital directory and read how a third-party administrator fits into the claim chain.
Common reasons a claim gets delayed
Most Medsave delays are document or eligibility issues, not rejections. Knowing the usual causes helps you fix a stuck claim faster.
Missing or unclear documents
A missing discharge summary, illegible final bill or absent investigation report puts the claim into “query”. Reimbursement claims stall until you upload exactly what the query asks for.
Details that don’t match the policy
A name, date of birth or member ID that differs between the hospital paperwork and the policy record has to be reconciled before Medsave can proceed.
Waiting periods and eligibility
Claims for conditions still inside a waiting period, or for a member not yet endorsed onto the policy, are held for verification with the insurer before a decision.
Non-payable and deducted items
Consumables, administrative charges and amounts above a sub-limit are deducted from the approved figure, so the settled amount can be lower than the hospital bill even when the claim is approved.
